WebAdenocarcinoma develops in cells located in the glands that line your organs (glandular epithelial cells). These cells secrete mucous, digestive juices or other liquids. If your glandular cells begin to change or grow out of control, tumors can form. Some tumors found in glandular cells are not cancerous. These are called adenomas. WebWhen the disease manifests as invasive carcinoma, its behavior exhibits great diversity, sometimes metastasizing rapidly, while in other cases 10-30 years pass before metastases proliferate. Here we review various aspects of breast cancer in vivo and consider how they predict properties of breast cancer found in culture.
